Mount Allison came up just short in a back-and-forth battle against Holland College in ACAA Men's Basketball on Sunday, falling 84-81 in a tightly contested matchup. Despite trailing by 12 at halftime, the Mounties stormed back with a 24-point third quarter, led by Jonas Munroe's 23 points and 8 rebounds, and Lance Momborquette's 21-point effort.
Ryan Norris added 20 points and 4 assists, helping Mount Allison keep pace in a game filled with offensive fireworks. The Mounties shot 47.1% from the field but struggled from deep, hitting just 9 of 31 three-point attempts.
Holland's Owen Parsons was on fire, scoring a game-high 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Spencer Rossiter and Jahreal Tomlinson chipped in 14 points each, while Zachary Dawkins added 13.
Holland (1-1) are back on the road Saturday, November 8th against MSVU at 6pm. Mount Allison (0-1) are back at home on Saturday, November 8th against Crandall, tipoff is at 4pm.
